miTarget at the 17th Seeon Conference: Microbiota, Probiotics and Host

At the end of June, we – four researchers from the Immunogenetics and Bioinformatics group at the IKMB, including two PhD students and two postdocs – had the opportunity to attend the 17th Seeon Conference on “Microbiota, Probiotics and Host”, organized by the German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology (DGHM). All four of us are (associated) members of miTarget.
Representing the IKMB and miTarget, we actively contributed to the scientific program through poster presentations and short pitch talks, presenting our latest research in the field of microbiome science.
The conference brought together microbiota researchers from around the world, offering an inspiring setting for scientific exchange. In this small and familiar meeting, keynote lectures covered a wide spectrum of topics – from global antimicrobial resistance and the development of phage therapy to the latest in FMT research. The different talks and sessions led to engaging discussions and provided valuable feedback on our own work.
The warm and collegial atmosphere made it easy to connect with fellow researchers, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for future interactions. The location – a former monastery surrounded by the idyllic Lake Chiemsee region – added a special touch to the meeting.
We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a vibrant and supportive scientific community and returned with fresh ideas, new contacts, and lasting impressions.
