11th International Day of Women and Girls in Science
Today marks the eleventh International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The United Nations | UN Women draw attention to the continuing underrepresentation of women in scientific fields worldwide. The day encourages girls and women to pursue careers in science, engineering, and other disciplines and to overcome the barriers that still exist.
To acknowledge this occasion, Kiel University has shared a short series on LinkedIn and Instagram featuring female scientists from the university. From our research unit, Mathilde Poyet (Principal Investigator in P2 and member of the PMI Cluster of Excellence), and Zaira Zafroon (doctoral researcher in P2) were featured. We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our female scientists and share their work on this special day.
