Kiel Lights Up Purple for World IBD Day 2026

💜 On World IBD Day 2026, the Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology (IKMB) at UniKiel and the UKSH, together with the Cluster of Excellence “Precision Medicine in Chronic Inflammation”, are raising awareness for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).

🌍 Around the world people living with IBD face pain and exhaustion every day. As more than 1% of the population in Western countries could be affected in the future, public awareness, interdisciplinary research, and better support for patients are more important than ever.

✨ On the evening of May 19, purple light installations will once again illuminate Kiel as a symbol of visibility and awareness. A music video will accompany the campaign. 🎵
