Do it your way – Authentic Visibility for Women in Science
Online Workshop with Dr. Julia Rathke
The full-day workshop on 3 November combines five core topics into an integrated learning experience for women doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. It supports reflection on academic positioning and the development of a strategic, authentic and resilient approach to professional visibility – in analog and digital spaces, across disciplines, and in public or institutional settings.
Workshop Topics:
- Authentic Visibility – Identifying Your Academic Profile: Values, expertise and roles – building a coherent academic narrative across CVs, applications and informal encounters.
- Creative Networking for Academic Success: Networking as a strategic, value-based practice – strengthening meaningful professional relationships, using networks effectively.
- Uplink Your LinkedIn – Professional Presence in the Digital Sphere: Clear, purposeful digital presence –LinkedIn profiles and content strategies aligned with academic identiy.
- Science Communication with Impact – Articulating Your Expertise: Communicating research with confidence and clarity in diverse formats.
- Dealing with Hatespeech – Strategies for Digital Resilience: Risks of digital visibility; strategies for protection and solidarity, especially in gendered or hostile settings.
The workshop combines input sessions, guided reflection, group exercises and moderated exchange – enabling personal insight, practical application and peer support. The focus areas for in-depth exploration will be agreed upon with the participants in advance.
