Institute for Experimental Medicine (IEM) / Kiel University (CAU)

The Institute of Experimental Medicine (IEM) comprises a total of seven research groups that are distinguished by their common interest in inflammation research: Systematic Proteomics and Bioanalytics, Medical Systems Biology, Evolutionary Medicine, Molecular Inflammation Medicine, Asthma Research, Maritime Medicine and Medical Ethics. The IEM is managed by a board of directors consisting of the heads of the research groups. The leading professors are mainly members of the Cluster of Excellence “Inflammation at Interfaces”. The institute was founded in 2009 at the Medical Faculty of the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel.
