Jan Taubenheim is post-doctoral researcher in the Group of Christoph Kaleta and works on metabolic modeling of the gut microbiome and its interaction with the human host. His aim is to understand the metabolic exchange of the microbiome and the host and how alterations in this relationship contributes to the development of IBDs. The results of this analysis will eventually lead to the identification of new diagnostic as well as therapeutic targets in IBD patients.
