Center for Molecular Biosciences (ZMB)

Interdisciplinarity and scientific interaction determine the Centre for Molecular Biosciences (ZMB) concept. The combination of research groups from the Faculties of Medicine, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences at Kiel University forms an ideal structure of highly specialized molecular-biological and molecular-genetic research.

All working groups at the ZMB investigate topics in molecular biological and molecular genetic research from a multitude of different perspectives. Genetic variations in medicine are the focus, as are diet-related risk constellations and valuable breeding properties in agricultural crops and animals in Agricultural Science.
